The Higher Administrative Court issued a final ruling upholding an earlier decision that annulled the Judicial Council’s order to terminate a judge for non-confirmation, directing his reinstatement and confirmation in the judiciary. The ruling came nearly a year after the original decision in July 2024.

The session, presided over by Judge Mohammad Al-Ghuraier with four panel judges, was attended by the Administrative Prosecutor and the judge’s lawyer, Adv. Rateb Al-Nawaiseh.

The judge, who holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Law, graduated from the Judicial Institute with “Very Good” standing and was appointed in 2020 as a Trainee Judge, later serving as a Magistrate Judge. His service was terminated by the Judicial Council on July 15, 2024, which prompted him to appeal through Al-Nawaiseh.

The Administrative Court ruled that the termination lacked legal grounds, and the Higher Administrative Court confirmed this, reinstating the judge.

Adv. Rateb Al-Nawaiseh described the decision as a landmark in Jordanian judicial history, affirming the true independence of the judiciary and the rule of law. He added that the Judicial Council should take pride in this ruling, which reflects Jordan’s identity as a state of institutions.

He concluded that the Jordanian judiciary remains the nation’s conscience, embodying the values established by the Hashemite leadership under King Abdullah II, who upholds justice as a pillar of the state.
